Sad News...

My family reunion is in a few weeks and I was looking forward to attending. This year’s reunion is in NC and only for 2 days (Saturday & Sunday) instead of the usual 3 days (Friday-Sunday). I live in Florida and it’s a pretty long drive for me. My plan was to go up Friday night, stay for the activities on Saturday and leave early Sunday morning.

Well, recent required home & car repairs are cancelling my plans to attend this year’s reunion. It really bothers me that I won’t be able to go. But, I have to keep my priorities in order. My house and transportation take precedence over the reunion.

So, while the rest of the family will be having fun fellowshipping, I will be home tending to a roof leak and idling issue. I miss those days when my parents handled getting to and from the reunions. :P

  1. I hear ya and I feel your pain. My family reunion was last summer and work considerations kept me from attending, so I can understand where you're coming from. Today after a trip to the store, I got out of my car and took a good look at my tires and they're about as bald as Telly Savalas!!! They're another $300.00 gone that I didn't want to have to spend!!!

  3. I know how it is Allum. I didn't go to our reunion this year partly because I want to do a research trip and no way I could afford to do both. The planners this year forgot we were in a recession.

If your reunion is in NC next year, maybe we can meet.

Hope that you can get all the repairs taken care of.

  4. I'm sorry to hear this sweetie! Wish we all had funds to contribute to a "Keep Family Alive" & get you there... I know how important this is to you.

Keep your chin up & know that the Ancestors understand our life challenges & support us through them.

    Thinking of you,

    Luckie.
